1. Right Learning Environment
- Be organised as it breeds CONFIDENCE
- Know the VALUE of education as it brings tangible rewards
- Stay POSITIVE as it leads to success
- Have clear EXPECTATIONS as it is essential
- Enjoy INTERACTION with students as what you want them to be
- Look BEYOND yourself and focus on others
- FAKE it and don't show the students that you are nervous
5. The First Day
- Begin IMMEDIATELY your housekeeping and set your rules
- Learn student's NAMES as it is easier to control their behaviour
- Create a warm and WELCOMING environment in the classroom
- Ensure a well-organised desk
- Consider the learning styles, multiple intelligences, varying instruction, standards, time to complete, time to grade, your goals and your expectations
